Acceptable Use Policy

Mark Defender exists to protect communities. This policy lists what that rules out. It is part of our Terms of Service.

You may not use Mark Defender to

  • Break Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, or help anyone evade a Discord ban.
  • Raid, nuke, spam or harass other servers or users, or coordinate others to do so.
  • Run a server built around illegal content, hate, harassment, scams, or the sexual exploitation of anyone.
  • Target people with the bot's moderation tools because of who they are rather than what they did.
  • Impersonate Discord, Corset Studio, another bot, or a real person, including through custom branding.

Global blacklist reports

  • Report only accounts that actually took part in raids, nukes, scams or similar abuse, with evidence.
  • Do not report people to settle personal disputes, punish competitors, or because they left your server.
  • False or bulk reports lose you the ability to report and can lead to loss of Premium.

Protecting the service

  • Do not attack, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the bot, the website or its API.
  • Do not try to use a license key, dashboard or server you are not authorized for.
  • Do not resell, share or publish license keys.
  • Security research is welcome under our Security Policy.

Custom branding

Names and avatars you set must not contain slurs, sexual content, other people's trademarks, or anything that makes the bot look like an official Discord or staff account.

Enforcement

Depending on how serious a breach is, we may warn you, reset your branding, remove the bot from a server, revoke Premium without refund, or ban an account or server from the service. Where the law requires it, we report illegal content to the authorities and to Discord.
